the CDC is a great organization but I think maybe they have such a bad attitude because of the type of work they do. Maybe if I was around contagious diseases and had to deal with beaurocracy all the time maybe I would be a great big prick. These are the worst customers we have. They constantly complain about everything. I have even taken to writing off complaints about the food or not taking their comments seriously because all they ever do is complain.
We had a plated dinner for just over 100 of the CDC on Monday night. There were 4 different entrees and the atendees had all picked their entrees in advance. We had a specific number of people and an entree for each person. Somehow (even though we always do 5% extra just in case more people show up we hadn't planned for)we ended up short on dinners for the guests. The head of the CDC group and the head of our banquet department were both raising hell until the Chef brough them both into the kitchen, showed them the sheet he was given with the number of plates for each guest, and then showed them all of the plated dinners left over. What had actually happened was a number of the guests had changed their minds about what they wanted to eat once the dinner actually started. This means there isn't enough to go around once people start changing their mind at the last minute.
Also, the horrible banquet staff we have were in the back harassing the Chef for more plates of the sea bass. I mean harassing. Absolutely no respect. I was getting so pissed off listening to them I was on the verge of losing my job had I opened my mouth. They were short 3 plates, even though we had made 2 extra to start with.
Later in the evening I was scraping plates (our evening dish washers did a no-show) and I discovered 2 untouched sea bass plates. Our banquet staff is so absolutely lazy and incompetent they had the food they needed to serve and didn't even know.
